Privacy Policy

Effective and last updated: August 20, 2026

This describes what Ariova collects, why, and what you can do about it. We wrote it in plain language on purpose — the short version is: we only collect what you tell us or send us, we never sell it, and you can see, correct, or delete it whenever you want.

Who we are

Ariova ("Ariova," "we," "us") provides a personal, conversational healthcare information agent delivered by text message and, in the future, other messaging channels. This policy covers ariova.ai and the Ariova texting service. Ariova is currently operated as a sole proprietorship. Contact: privacy@ariova.ai.

What we collect

We do not ask you to fill out a long intake form. Ariova learns about you gradually, the way a person would, only from what you actually say.

What we don't do

Who we do share with, narrowly

We use a small number of infrastructure vendors to run the service — for example, the messaging carrier that delivers your texts, cloud hosting and database providers, and AI language-model providers that help Ariova understand and respond to your messages. Every AI vendor we use is contractually restricted from training their own models on your data and is required to delete or not retain your data beyond what's needed to serve your request. These vendors process data on our behalf under contract; they are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

Security

Your data is encrypted both in transit and at rest. Access to identifiable health information is restricted to what's needed to operate the service, and every access is logged. We follow HIPAA-grade data handling practices even though Ariova, as a direct-to-consumer informational service with no clinicians involved, is not currently a "covered entity" under HIPAA.

Your rights

Not medical care

Ariova provides informational support only. It does not diagnose, prescribe, or recommend medications or dosages, and using it does not create a doctor-patient or other clinician relationship. In a medical emergency, call 911.

Health data gets extra protection

Because Ariova handles consumer health information, Washington residents (and, as a matter of practice, everyone else) are additionally covered by our Washington Consumer Health Data Policy, which goes into more specific detail about health-data categories, purposes, and your rights under Washington's My Health My Data Act.

Changes to this policy

If we make a material change to this policy, we'll note the new effective date above and, where required, notify you directly.
